LitUp ("LitUp", "we", "us") operates a platform that connects businesses ("merchants") with content creators ("influencers") in the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the LitUp app or website (litup.biz), you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and/or phone number, and your role (merchant or influencer).
- Merchant profile — business name, categories, emirate, address, Instagram handle, an optional map link, and trade-license information you provide for verification.
- Influencer profile — display name, social handles, follower counts, niches, city, profile photo, and payout details you choose to add.
- Activity — offers, slot requests, deals, redemption codes, visits recorded, and related transaction records.
- Device & usage data — basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service.
Camera
With your permission, the app uses your device camera on the merchant "Verify" screen to scan the QR code an influencer presents. Camera frames are processed on your device to read the code and are not stored or transmitted as images. You can decline camera access and type the code manually instead.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity by one-time code.
- To operate the marketplace — publishing offers, matching influencers and merchants, issuing and redeeming codes, and tracking visits and attribution.
- To calculate and process payouts and billing related to your activity.
- To communicate with you about your account, requests and important service notices.
- To keep the service secure and to comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
Merchants and influencers see the profile information relevant to a collaboration (for example, an influencer's public profile is shown to a merchant reviewing their request). We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers who help us run LitUp — including hosting, database and authentication (Supabase), email delivery (Resend) and application hosting (Vercel) — strictly to provide the service. We may disclose information where required by law.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated records as described below.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app: open your Profile and choose "Delete my account". This removes your profile and associated data (for merchants, this includes your business, offers and related records; for influencers, your profile, requests, deals and earnings history) and deletes your sign-in identity. Some records may be retained where required by law.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Children
LitUp is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your choices
You can review and update your profile in the app, and delete your account as described above. To ask a question about your data or request assistance, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
